1-on-1 with our resident buggy chief!
Anyone who's been to MegaZip Adventure Park might have gone on our popular jungle buggy rides. Helming the care and upkeep of our 4-wheel rides is Taufik! This week, we sit down with him to find out the 4-1-1 on him.
Hello Taufik! Tell us a little bit more about yourself! :)
Hi folks! I'm Mohammed Taufik Bin Rahim. Or you can just call me Fikk.
I'm 24 and I'm in charge of the buggies in MegaZip Adventure Park. What I do is really just to ensure they're given TLC and that they're in the best and safest working condition for both our crew and Adventurers.
What is a typical day in the working life of Fikk?
Mornings are dedicated to routine checks on the buggies. That's followed by washing them (gotta make sure they're clean and spick and span) and all the vital parts are working well before they start vrooming!
What do you enjoy doing on your days off?
I'll definitely sleep in (laughs). After I wake up, it would be catching up on my favorite tv series – White collar and The Mentalist.
I also enjoy playing my favorite computer game – Football manager.
What is a funny experience you've had while working at MZ?
I was ready to receive an Adventurer from the ParaKump. However, she was so scared she slapped my face without realising it. I was completely stunned... and that was only my second day at work! Thankfully, there weren't any more face-slapping incidents after that (laughs).
What is the most memorable experience you've had while working at MZ?
I assisted a little Adventurer through Climbmax Level 1 on a rainy day so both of us were completely soaked. The parents of the little kid were so impressed and thankful; they wanted to give me a tip but i declined. For the crew, we're happy when the Adventurers are happy as well.
What is a common misconception about your role?
People think I'm a "glorified chauffeur" when I'm actually trained to be in operations as well (laughs).
What would be the perfect meal to end a busy day with?
Spicy Ban Mian with Coke! Sedap (delicious)!
